Résumé Creator : Experience Tips

  • List past work experiences in backwards chronological order, starting with your most recent or current job.
  • When describing your past job positions, begin with the most impressive accomplishments at that job. Also, be sure to focus on the on the skills from that job that could translate well to the job you are applying for.
  • Use keywords from the job description of the job for which you are applying while writing your past career summaries. Some employers will initially run résumé through a computer program that picks up on keywords as a way to select which applications to give a closer look.
  • Do not include too much information here. Be informative, but make sure you only write about skill-sets that match up with the job qualifications and leave out less relevant credentials.
  • Make sure to have the correct dates and contact information for references if required.
