Since opening our first representative office in 1994, BASF has expanded its operations in Vietnam with two production sites and three offices. We provide products and solutions for various industries and applications, including agriculture, electrical and electronics, oil and mining, nutrition and health, paints and coatings, personal and home care, petrochemicals, plastics, textile, leather and footwear and others.

Implement the six core tasks of the country with special focus and coordinated approach towards customers (including the transplants approach), support employer branding and advocacy (e.g. in terms of corporate sustainability and digitalization) and in support of efficiency and effectiveness through sharing of best practices, benchmarks and synergies (e.g. by means of “Simplify”, Net Promoter System or SalesForce).

Customer Lever:
- NPS: monitor / seek for local patterns; initiate “outer loops” in alignment with RBUs
- Sales Force: facilitate the country-specific implementation and communication plan
- Customer networks: support cross-business units’ activities / networks
- Customer analytics: analyse top 30 - 100 customers portfolio to prioritize and focus activities
- Transplants (Japan, China and Taiwan): Coordinate with regional transplants management teams

- Drive local simplification initiatives & knowledge exchange as country contact point
- Create awareness on simplification to generate new initiatives and foster simplification
- Multiply simplification opportunities via cross-country / regional platform approach

- Drive implementation of the country sustainability roadmap, action plan and communication matrix
- Support the country platform to deploy BASF sustainability concepts & knowledge exchange
- Support management to leverage sustainability in country business development
- Perform trainings/ employee engagement as needed
- Advocate sustainability topics with external stakeholders (government, NGOs, customers)

- Identify areas where digitalization can support businesses (sales, supply chain etc.)
- Explore & advocate digitalization topics & business models for BASF with potential partners
- Lead the country specific digital topics e.g. Quick lead reporting, future digital projects

Country Strategic Projects:
- Steer strategic country projects e.g. re-organization, cost efficiencies, cultural change initiatives etc.
- Provide content to MD’s office on critical regional or country presentations as required
- Define Governance mechanism for Country management / leadership team


- Degree in Chemistry / Environment Engineering, Business or relevant
- At least 5 years’ experience in Sales or business management
- Good network in the chemical industry and trade associations
- Experiences in matrix organizations and interfaces
- Good understanding of the chemical industry and value chain
- Ability to establish and sustain key customer and stakeholder relationships
- Strong interests in sustainability and digitalization topics
- High degree of adaptability, flexibility and integrity
- Demonstrate leadership capacities and potential to grow in the organization
- Good analytical, problem-solving and collaborative engagement skills
- Good understanding of country political situation and related networks or able to acquire these in a relatively short time.
