Job summary

This position is responsible for Acts as the primary point of contact for post deployment Polaris training activities and support. Performs moderately complex analysis to understand systems and processes and how they flow or work together.  Demonstrates ability to manage, analyze, and act upon large quantities of data.  Participates in and may lead project teams. Works under limited supervision. Candidate must be adaptable, and demonstrate the ability to understand, assess and implement new technologies. Strong organizational, document management, and communication skills required.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

1-  Follows a variety of generally defined procedures under general guidance within training governance. Works independently and output is occasionally reviewed while in progress. The supervisor is consulted for assistance in problem areas.

2- Uses information technology theories and practices to provide guidance and/or training to lower level co-workers within the same or job-related work group on moderately complex duties.   

3- Handles Transactional inquiries and develops solutions for moderately complex issues. Solutions are often based on the review of prior practices and/or experiences in similar situations. Most complex problem solving may require the use of experience, analysis, and research to resolve. Uses intermediate analytical skills to analyze trends or data.  Uses short-term planning skills when forecasting or providing guidance to clients.  

4- Decisions or actions are based on more alternatives and greater adaptation to circumstances, having a clear impact on operational effectiveness of work operations, schedules, or performance goals.

5- Work tasks encompass concepts within one or more disciplines/practices within one department/location. Working tasks might include:

  • Responsible for training compliance after system deployment in a country/location. Assigns training, articulates justification of why training is needed, what specific business role the training applies to.  Sends notifications of what training is needed, tracks training status to determine if training has been taken within the defined timeline.
  • Using data from the appropriate system(s), i.e. LSO and RMTT, analyzes data to determine if training is current with the process role.  As new releases deploy additional functionality, works with Global Training to understand the impact of new training requirements, assign new Learner Roles, and/or remove training that is no longer required. 
  • Ensures every business role requested via IDM and GRC training is assigned within 1 business day and completion is tracked.
  • Completes required TLC/TGA training curriculum identified for the TGA role.
  • Approves GRC requests and manages training assignments in LSO.
  • Manages the booking and tracking of required training for all system access granted via IDM
  • Monitors training completions and sends out reminders.
  • Provides Global Training Governance Support Lead with scheduled access removals for end users delinquent for training within 30 days
  • Provides training support via ITSM ticket process, group mail account, etc.  Coaches clients to become self-reliant.
  • Supports the development of process improvements and tool usage.
  • Creates supporting documentation as needed for identified needs.
  • Uses influencing skills to convince users to complete their training as required and on time.


  • Fluent English is a must
  • A Bachelor level university/college degree is desired.
  • 1-2 years relevant working experience is required (Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Training, or related field).
  • Working knowledge of theories and practices, typically applied to one discipline, such as applications, training, governance, compliance, etc.
  • Possesses knowledge of assigned area of responsibility and continues to expand knowledge of general 3M structure, organization, and business.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, coordination, and strong analytical and proactive thinking skills. 
  • Knowledge of basic business concepts.
  • Training development and delivery experience
  • Self-motivated and good organizational skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills are required to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Quick learner and ability to grasp new processes and tools.
  • Basic - Mid MS Excel skills (create pivot tables, etc.) required
  •  Tool Access database, and LSO desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean / Six Sigma Certified (Green Belt/Black Belt)
  • Additional language skills
  • Project Management certification
