Associate, Human Resources (Talent Development)


Position Summary

 The Associate, Human Resources for Talent Development will play a crucial role in enabling the Staff Leadership Development Journey. Through this he/she will be a significant contributor in the excellent staff experience that Teach For India strives to create for each staff member. The Associate will own different milestones of the staff experience, build strong and enduring relationships across the organization, and support staff at Teach For India in creating a continuous path to unleash their greatest potential!

Team Overview

Currently Teach For India has ~ 240 staff members and the Human Resources team is responsible for hiring, developing and engaging this diverse, multi-talented and very passionate pool of people. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg as the team engages with people who may or may not even have heard about Teach For India and plants seeds therein. The team also aims to ensure that while their experience at Teach For India remains one of realizing their truest potential, a staff member’s journey does not end with moving on from Teach For India.Instead they continue to be lifelong champions for the movement even as Staff Alumni. Poised as we are at this inflection point, knocking on the doors of Phase 3(the next 5 year phase in Teach For India’s journey), there are exciting and challenging times ahead for Teach For India and for the Human Resources team!


Developing Talent and Enhancing Staff Experience:

  • He/she will build strong and enduring relationships across verticals and levels
  • This should lead to being a thought partner and supporting verticals and individual team members to implement and maximize the potential of various milestones in the staff journey
  • Driving and executing the employee engagement survey and working with verticals to identify action items based on the survey results
  • Supporting with the performance management program at Teach For India
  • Having a strong pulse on the culture among staff and planning and executing staff culture initiatives
  • Manage any HR related queries for staff / Fellows
  • Conducting exit formalities and maintaining staff alumni records
  • Leadinga seamless joining and on boarding program for new hires across cities
Data and storytelling:
  • A crucial task for the Associate will be to update and analyze data about staff at Teach For India
  • The Associate should also be able to use this data to tell important stories about our people that will improve and positively impact the staff experience
Owning and developing talent infrastructure
  • Owning and constantly improving central professional development mailers
  • Being the custodian of policies and handbooks

Additional Responsibilities

  • Be actively involved in hiring for staff/interns when required
  • Support the Fellowship Recruitment team by participating in their outreach initiatives for Fellowship applicants, when required
  • Support the Fellowship Selection team in selection procedure for Fellows
  • Support in all other HR initiatives

  • Ability to manage data and proficient with MS Excel

Education and Experience
