Associate, Communications (Media and Events)


Position Summary

To assist in the development and execution of media and communication strategies to drive brand awareness and Fellowship applications for the organization.

Team Overview

The Communications Team at Teach For India is responsible for the brand, publicity, and outreach of Teach For India. The team works with external stakeholders for PR and events and partners with internal teams to create and execute the overall marketing, brand and communication strategies for the organization. This includes the development of targeted outreach strategies, design, events and materials and documentation for a diverse, nationwide audience of current and prospective donors, potential applicants to the Fellowship, new Fellows and staff, current staff and Fellows, the alumni body, the education community and extended networks at large.


Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Media & PR

  • Work with publications and media houses to build brand awareness across relevant mainstream and innovative media spaces.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to facilitate local media outreach.
  • Lead the paid and pro-bono advertising initiatives for Teach For India.
  • Drive co-branded partnerships with brands and media platforms.
  • Lead internal events such as Alumni Induction, Institute opening and closing ceremonies for Teach For India and external events like InspirED & Teach For India Week.
  • Work with Teach For India staff and children, and prepare them for participation in events to raise the bar internally and externally.
  • Source speaking opportunities for Teach For India staff in external platforms.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Use primary and secondary research as a tool for targeted communication.
  • Capture, conceptualize and write inspiring stories of Teach For India students, Fellows and Alumni to drive awareness.
  • Assist Communications Director in drafting communication plans and strategy notes.

  • Graduate/Postgraduate
