What you’ll be doing...

The Consultant will join the Verizon, a top 10 global brand, and specifically the Brand Development team to help manage and drive our brand governance process and identity system across the business. The candidate will be responsible for the day to day management and oversight of the company-wide Verizon brand compliance process and program. The ideal candidate will have brand management experience, a strong design background, understanding of large scale design systems and its’ application, and have a detail-oriented process mindset and love of data.

The candidate will be responsible for driving and achieving measurable brand quality/continuity KPIs. Candidate will supervise outside agencies in compliance process, address business prioritizations and manage escalations. The candidate will be responsible for deriving insights from the compliance reviews, identifying gaps in brand identity standards, areas of issues and opportunities for training and guidelines in conjunction with agencies or internal team. The candidate will work with the Agency Relations team to ensure all external agencies comply with our process and achieve set targets. Candidate will be responsible for all reporting, presenting and communicating monthly and quarterly data and insights, training and communicating about the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate creative work as needed; provide QC on brand compliance responses and comments, point of 1st escalation and resolution.
  • Analyze data, evaluate, and assess trends in compliance and identify gaps for training and guidelines. Support audit process and identify compliance issues “in the wild”.
  • Work with brand training lead and help coordinate training development, implementation and participate in training.
  • Own agency relationships as it relates to compliance. Work with Agency Relations team and interact with agencies and internal constituents to address questions, resolve issues and, mitigate compliance issues. Set annual goals and communicate.
  • Participate in guideline development process as it relates to compliance and know and be familiar with all guidelines.
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement compliance process and improvements.
  • Responsible for all reporting and tracking. Develop reports, ensure KPI’s are met.
  • Communicate and collaborate with teams and agencies daily.
  • Present findings to leadership and small and large groups.
  • Participate and contribute to larger governance and Brand Development organizational initiatives and learn all aspects of managing the brand.
  • Support Brand Governance Sr. Manager and Director as needed including managing new initiatives, developing ideas, company transformation, presentation development and reporting.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

The individual will be managing a workflow tool and the daily inflow of creative marketing materials submitted for brand review (estimated 4 – 5,000 pieces per year.) The individual will need a strong knowledge of large scale design systems and different types of design applications particularly digital. Ability to assess creative against design system and understand brand impacts. The individual will be able to synthesize tracking data and make recommendations for improvements of process, recommend programs and tools to close gaps and achieve KPIs

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or years of experience as a creative service or project management, production lead in design or creative production environment. (agency preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of brand design principles, visual vocabulary and large scale design systems and how they extend across different environments.
  • Process-oriented with proven ability to manage, drive and communicate end-to-end process disciplines and measures, manage workflow tool process.
  • Synthesize data, formulate recommendations and present findings. Identify issues and areas of opportunity to improve operational effectiveness, brand metrics, training and gaps in brand standards and implement plans.
  • Experience helping, managing and addressing brand compliance-related questions and areas of issue through closure.
  • Knowledge of digital environments and the use of digital design systems and pattern libraries
  • Knowledge with workflow tools to manage the end-to-end process and work with digital asset management system
  • Experience interacting with agencies, marcom managers and a variety of Verizon employees at all levels on a daily basis.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or graphic design
  • Agency project management, production, or process lead in design firm.
  • Highly organized and experienced multi-tasker not intimidated by high volume, high pressure environment
  • Ability to look holistically at how design decisions affect overall brand.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work effectively across multiple teams, agencies, disciplines.
  • Knowledge of Brand identity or large scale design systems and how it relates to brand.
  • Knowlege and experience with DAM systems, design software, and workflow or project management tools such as workfront, Adobe, Bynder.
  • MS office, Adobe CC, PPT, Excel, Tableau.
