Junior Generalist, HR

Overview/Purpose

Support HR initiatives, strategies and programs to help drive business results at one of the top media related organizations through delivery and facilitation of HR best practices and procedures. Under the guidance of the HR Business Partner, deliver operational and consultative assistance to internal client groups.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Providing HR support to Human Resources Business Partners in the areas of employee relations, recruitment, terminations & exit interviews.
  • Assisting with tracking and maintaining headcount and salary planning process by running and updating necessary reports
  • Under the direction of the HR business partner, assist in the implementation of promotions, transfers and salary adjustments.
  • Under the guidance of the HRBP, assists in the discreet, timely and effective investigation and resolution of employee relation issues as they arise
  • Manage ad hoc requests and projects such as headcount, turnover, merit, bonus, and reporting
  • Define and track key HR metrics
  • Understand labor policies changes and ensure compliance with federal laws. 
  • Build and grow credibility and relationships and understanding of client groups.
  • Manage the HR Receptionist.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years Human Resource experience
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Proven understanding of HR practices and principles
  • Self-starter, proactive and entrepreneurial thinker
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion where necessary
  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to establish credibility and strong working relationships
  • Solutions oriented
