Role Purpose

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Energy Analyst based in London. The Energy Analyst will join JLL’s EMEA IFM Energy & Sustainability Centre of Excellence, which has a proven track record of delivering environmental performance improvements and cost savings for our clients. They will work within a small team to support to a number of clients with energy and sustainability reporting, utility analysis and data exchange between suppliers, clients and the JLL proprietary data platform. The Energy Analyst will also help with the identification and evaluation of utility cost reduction opportunities, the identification and evaluation of operational sustainability improvement opportunities, support the delivery of operational improvements associated with energy, waste and water; and the management of vendors providing energy and waste related services.

What this job involves

  • Working as a valued and integral member of JLL’s energy & sustainability centre of excellence
  • Managing the energy, waste and water data collection process within JLL’s technology platform and produce monthly and quarterly reports that are tailored to meet our clients’ specific requirements
  • Undertaking data analysis to identify trends, opportunities for savings, cost recovery and improvement
  • Supporting the delivery of energy audits by applying sound technical knowledge to help identify and assess energy reduction opportunities
  • Liaising with energy retailers and waste management providers to support JLL facilities managers with the management of utility and waste contracts
  • Engaging with JLL facility managers and become the key point of contact for the provision of wide ranging advice in relation to all aspects of environmental sustainability.
  • The role will be office based but the candidate will be expected to travel within the UK and potentially across Europe

  • Passion for sustainability and energy efficiency, preferably in the built environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a desire to provide quality reports and advice
  • The ability to plan and prioritise deadlines and think strategically
  • Flexible, self-motivated with a service oriented personality and a strong desire to achieve goals
  • Promote open, constructive and collaborative relations with colleagues and clients.
  • Sound technical knowledge of energy in buildings and building services engineering
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately extract and analyse large data sets to produce clear, concise and cogent reports
  • Strong MS Excel capabilities including understanding of formulas, pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting and macros
  • Experience engaging with a variety of stakeholders to understand their objectives and assisting them to achieve these objectives
  • Knowledge of EU legislation with regards to energy and sustainability
  • A preference for at least 2 years’ experience in energy & sustainability related activities, ideally in the property sector.  May consider a recent graduate.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree-qualifications in Engineering or similar technical discipline.
  • Preference for higher or related qualifications (Master’s Degree, Certified Energy Manager (CEM)), or a related discipline
